Vegetables are healthy so I am told. Is a cucumber a vegeatble or a fruit I wonder?

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 10:53 am

Spamfiltered :) and company so bye

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 10:58 am

I don’t know, Ina. Cucumbers sometimes give me heartburn, so I rarely eat them.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:25 pm

I checked in the supermarket. Kitkat is made in Switzerland it says on the package.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:26 pm

This might look as if it comes out of the blue, and it does. :)

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:31 pm

“A Kit Kat bar[1] is a confection which was first created by Rowntree Limited of York, England, and now produced worldwide by Nestlé, which acquired Rowntree in 1988,[2] except in the USA where it is made under licence by Hershey’s. Each bar consists of fingers composed of three layers of crème-filled wafer, covered in an outer layer of chocolate. Each finger can be snapped from the bar one at a time.” Wikipedia

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Now the question: Why is it made under license in America and not imported from other countries?

Does this mean that it is not as much the case of the rest of the world not wanting to import American chocolate, but can it be the other way around?

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 1:46 pm

No, not at all. Hershey’s enjoys a great reputation in the United States and licensing KitKats under that name is an instant sell. Besides, it’s probably cheaper to make here and distribute than coming from wherever it’s made worldwide. To add shipping charges to similar wages and manufacturing costs probably didn’t make sense. that’s a guess, anyway.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:47 pm

And would there be a difference in taste? Which one tastes better? Globetrotters would know.
There ought to be a world Kitkat election.
I thought, after the cucumber, something better tasting would be a good idea to bring up.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:48 pm

Hm, could be. But would they taste the same?

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 1:50 pm

My guess is that they would be identical in taste. Coca Cola is the same worldwide.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:50 pm

But mayonaise and peanut butter arent.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:55 pm

So much for the good taste. I am going to bite in a cucumber!

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 1:58 pm

So was it monday you are going to be in a jury?

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:02 pm

(something in my memory says feb 2. I always remember dates. Well not dates. But dates.)

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Monday morning I have to be at the court house by 8:30.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:04 pm

And you have no idea what sort of case?

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:12 pm

A cat just fell of the tv set. I think we can burry it now, but I better check if it’s alive .

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 2:21 pm

No idea what sort of case. I am going to try to get out of it. I have to get chest x-rays next week and I’m supposed to see a hematologist. I will take my doctor’s papers with me.

Cat? TV? Bury? I’m lost on that one.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:23 pm

Can you get out of it, is it not too late?
No, the cat is ok. 9 lives. If it was dead, we would burry it. It is 17. We are sort of waiting for it to go.

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 2:31 pm

That’s a long life for a cat. Mine died at 14 several years ago. Babette.

  • Marinade Dave // January 31, 2009 at 2:33 pm

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:47 pm

That was great! We always have tabby cats, this one is actually my mothers. She used to ran away back to the empty house, but now she is here for 3 years or so. Our own cat is 15. They are great.
We once had a cat called Mirakel. When he felt he was going to die at the age of 15, he went to the garden two houses away, and did it there. Cats do that, they say. But this one just gets younger it seems :)

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 2:52 pm

Then again we also had cats that ate their own kittens.

  • Newbie // January 31, 2009 at 3:16 pm

You guys !! I am going to have to log some of these conversations.

I have been making a tape for my children and grand babies of funny stories and good memories. I am adding some of these conversations ….I will read them while taping…..

Know that the humor here will be passed on from generation to generation Lol lol

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 3:27 pm

Hi Newbie! My internet is having convulsions or something, I keep getting disconnected. But as I went down, I saw your rose and so I came back.

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Does that happen to you too? The different layout at times when you refresh?

  • Ina // January 31, 2009 at 3:33 pm

She is gone, I am on my own.
I might have known. She is that Rose that comes
    and goes.

    Poetry in slowmotion. Bye :)

  • Newbie // January 31, 2009 at 3:51 pm

    LOL INA !!!

I wasn’t smart enough t use refresh…..I have been going to another topic and clicking back…dahhhhhh

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 11:13 am

T….that w…was such a b… bad idea going out for a walk… But we made some pics for on the webblog :)
Now it looks as if we had an interesting Sunday afterall.

Blueburry muffins sound good. Do you usually eat bread in the morning? If you are there somewhere behind keyboard…

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 11:29 am

I’m not behind the keyboard, Ina. The keyboard is in front of me. For the time being.

Blueberry muffins are very good in the morning. Normally, I don’t eat bread or anything made from bleached flour, especially in the morning when my blood sugar runs higher, but they were there and I’m a sucker for anything blueberry.

C…C…C…Cold, h…h…h…huh? I don’t envy you, but I will go to your blog to see the photos. First, I have some work to do. I’ll be there soon.

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 11:43 am

S…so cold. I wore 2 sweaters and a thick coat and still froze half to death. Now I know why men have beards. Well some have.

You wrote an interesting view on the murder, (“premeditated and pretty stuid too” . I might not agree on all points, but then again, I don’t know much about it so I know when to shut up. I just wanted to say it was really written very well, I think.

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 11:44 am

You are behind keyboard if it is in front of you I think?

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 11:52 am

Thanks, Ina. Not agreeing on all points is precisely why I wrote it, to get other points of view. Anything that helps stimulate thought is important and timely. I think.

I don’t know why I have a goatee, but it’s not to keep warm in Florida.

I guess being in front of or behind something is directly related to one’s point of view. Suppose I turn the keyboard and myself around 180 degrees. Now which one is in front and which one is behind?

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 11:57 am

I think you are being backwards from each other then :) Or is it the same direction you turn?

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 12:07 pm

Ina, if we turned 180 degrees at the same time and together, we would still be facing each other, only in a different direction. Like dance partners.

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 12:20 pm

I think I will try it out with T .
I still think that you can read it 2 ways.
If together means you stay face to face, you are right there. If it means: we do it both, it could mean we would end up back to back.
T is giving me a hard time trying it out :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Dance the night away, but if you and the keyboard turned around separately, you both would be back to back. If you turned around together, as one, you would be facing each other, no matter what direction you were in. Therefore, we would be in front of each other, not behind. I know, I have strange logic sometimes.

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 12:43 pm

My keyboard never faces me somehow, but then again we are never back to back either.

Ok, so the keyboard and I are both in front of each other. Then WHO is behind all this? I am! Behind scheduale. Time to cook.

T is behind me facing the keyboard though…
    Confusing :(

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Quite obviously, Ina, I am behind all this confusion. Don’t you know me by now?

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 1:15 pm

    Back to front :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 1:28 pm

    Full frontal, you mean.

  • Newbie // February 1, 2009 at 2:28 pm

    I love it. lol

  • Ina // February 1, 2009 at 3:01 pm

    Ah jees, Newbie, refresh!
O well, goodnight :) Going to bed early.

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 3:11 pm

    Wiedersehn bis morgen, Ina. Danke.

  • Newbie // February 1, 2009 at 3:26 pm

hmmmm…interesting…how did you know I was there.

    Just missed Ina I guess.

I opted out of going tonight. I’ve sorted thru pics, helped make picture boards, etc etc. etc etc etc Few people aren’t too happy with me …..oh well…..I’m not too happy with them….drama drama, yeck.

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 3:33 pm

I hope this is a safe harbor from your antagonists, then, Newbie.

    Yup, you just missed her.

  • Newbie // February 1, 2009 at 4:24 pm

I think my computer has the hiccups.

Thanks. Yes, been a great escape for a little over a month. Know that you have been used and abused, Dave.

As you know, I love you and Ina’s bantering (?)…jousting….

  • Marinade Dave // February 1, 2009 at 5:26 pm

Sorry, I had to take care of a few things.

I like that… a great escape. And I’ve enjoyed being used and abused. Keep up the good work.

I’m happy our bantering is good for something, Newbie. Sort of like some of those conversations Abbott & Costello used to have.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 7:17 am

And I thought I was making serious statements here!
Gutenmorgen it is so cold I slept with my socks on. And he didnot even notice :) Hope you had coffee already.
So you will not be courting today I guess? If that is the right verb here, now I wonder. Jurying I meant.

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:13 am

Jesting…that is the word I was looking for….only took me over 12 hours to think of it. Seriously, when IT gets to going, my thinking process gets terrible. Good thing I have an excuse Lol

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:16 am

    What is jesting?

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:18 am

My computer has serious hiccups already…

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:21 am

Give it a glass of water :)

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:26 am

Newbie! I wasn’t serious! Electricity and water don’t mix! Oh dear. Hope everything is ok there.

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:38 am

I gave it some cyber water.

Hey, that reminds me, have you ever asked for diet water at a restaurant?

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:41 am

Water is low in calories already , I don’t think you need to?

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:46 am

I hope this hiccupping doesn’t continue….I type and send and get a notice there is something wrong with Dave’s site…..then I wait (correct my message) and send again…ending with two messages.

Is today xray day? Has an appointment been made with the specialist Dave?

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:49 am

Ina, it is a joke only to be played on waitresses you know and get along with Lol….it seems most people have to stop and think for a minute….I like the joke!!!!

  • Newbie // February 2, 2009 at 8:51 am

Okay, the post before last is out there somewhere…..oh well…I am headed to catch up on comments on Dave’s last “thoughts”.

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 8:51 am

After looking at the paper that was mailed to me, I was instructed to call a number to listen to a recording. I hadn’t read it until last night. Everyone is given a letter of the alphabet. Those called were told which court house to go to. My letter is “W” and they didn’t go that high. I was instructed to call after 6 pm today to find out more, but I am still going to take my medical papers with me if I do have to go. Who knows? I might not be called again for a year or so.

Courting is when people first start dating. Going to court to report for jury duty is a whole different thing. There is no such word as jurying.

Time to make coffee. I was up late watching the Super Bowl, so I slept later this morning.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:53 am

:) O I see. Then you never know what they might come up with to make you pay! “New! Diet water! Only available here!”

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:56 am

    Have a nice brew :)
I heard some newsman say the Pitsburg something…. ? won the Superbowl and had done so for many more tomes. That was all. And Bruce Springsteen sung. Now of that there were shots of.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 8:56 am

    times. Not tomes.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 9:02 am

Jureren. It is there in Dutch, so if it is not already there, the verb to jury can be easily swifted in the English language, I think.
Must work and plan doing groceries without getting frozen.

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 9:10 am

Jesting is kidding around in this context, I think.

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 9:17 am

Somehow, some of the comments were lost and just showed up out of nowhere. I can’t explain what happened, but I like to respond in order and that’s going to be impossible.

This morning I was supposed to go for jury duty, Newbie, but my letter is “W” and they only pooled up to “Q”. I have to call again after 6 today.

I have to call for x-rays today to set up an appointment. The specialist will come later. It’s a lot more expensive to see a hematologist/oncologist.

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 9:20 am

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals. This is the 6th time they won a Super Bowl, the most ever. Bruce Springsteen performed the halftime show. I’ve seen him live in concert. His keyboardist died of cancer last year. We went to the same high school, but he was 2 years ahead, in my brother’s class.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 9:39 am

Bruce Sprinsteens is very popular here too. Born in the USA is something I sing outloud in the shower :) “Bóóórn in the…” Poor neighbours.
Somehow he does not seem to age at all. But I didnot take a close look.

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 9:48 am

He is 59 now, 3 years older than me. Like me, he is a New Jersey native. I was born in Ringoes, he’s from Asbury Park, down the shore.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 9:51 am

So did you ever meet him of stage?

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 9:54 am

Ah, must go. Have a nice day :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 10:01 am

No, I’ve never met him personally or otherwise. I just saw him from a front row seat about 15 years ago. Hey, see ya later.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 2:23 pm

It is later :) growing bolder is back on! I did a blog to try out, it worked fine.
    Are you back?

  • Dave Knechel // February 2, 2009 at 3:37 pm

I am back. I’ve got some catching up to do. No results on the x-rays until after I make my next Dr. appointment. I am shooting for Thursday sometime. When I get the chance, I’ll check out GB. Glad it’s back up.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 3:40 pm

    Shooting ?

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 3:41 pm

-I think it means you will know more then, but this is guessing-

  • Dave Knechel // February 2, 2009 at 3:52 pm

Shooting. Aiming for. I am looking to make an appointment for sometime Thursday. American slang.

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 3:55 pm

How come you are out of Marinade?

  • Ina // February 2, 2009 at 3:57 pm

You look tasty enough, but marinaded, it just added something :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 2, 2009 at 6:05 pm

I’m not at all sure what you mean, Ina. I would never consider myself tasty, though.

  • Ina // February 3, 2009 at 3:01 am

Marinaded meat … oh well. No, but then again you would never bite yourself too I hope. Neither will I. Your nick was without marinade! That is what I meant! But I read about the experiment. You reversed it I suppose. Anyway goodmoring :)

  • Ina // February 3, 2009 at 3:22 am

    Morning I mean.
    QdJ:
“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” – Ronald Reagan

And if it is in coma, reanimate it?

Was RR good in economics, that you recall? I can’t remember much about him. Only that he had played in the movies and his wife too.

  • Marinade Dave // February 3, 2009 at 10:05 am

So now you see what I was trying to do, but Thinker Belle figured it out anyway.

What I liked about the Reagan quote is how important it is today. Under his administration, times were great; lots of money, a sense of security, a strong economy and defense, especially after the Iranian hostage crisis. We were going nowhere under the Carter administration. OK, so far so good, except for one giant thing. Deficits under his tutelage became the largest in US history. Part of the mess we’re in today could be attributed to Reaganomics, which was very similar to the trickle down theory. That one says give money to the rich and it will stream down to the poor. Only, the more rich the rich became, the more they wanted, just like we are seeing today with these huge bailouts. More huge bonuses for screwing up the works. What do we have now? A proposed billion dollar bailout which will add to the already bursting deficit. The funny part of that quote is how Obama will subsidize the poor. If the government adds to welfare, why work? By poor, I don’t mean people who can’t work, I’m talking about those unwilling to because the incentive is just not there.

  • Ina // February 3, 2009 at 11:55 am

    Reaganomics! I heard about that!
    I will look it up.
I agree that people should work not live on welfare, if possible. I heard Obama will help New Orleans, the Bush administrtion had promised but failed. Now I do hope that that will happen.

  • Ina // February 3, 2009 at 11:58 am

    Now gone again. Eyes.

  • Marinade Dave // February 3, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Actually, Bush did help. A little late and not enough, but he did. By the way, the governor of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans did just as bad a job, if not worse because they looked the other way, knowing exactly where that storm was heading. No one prepared for it, including the city’s inhabitants. School bus after school bus sat idle. Where were they when it came time to evacuate? That was the mayor’s fault, the guy who made a racial slur against white people. I’m not condoning Bush, but there was plenty more there than what we learned from the press. Footnote: The governor was gone after that term, deciding to not even try to run for re-election. Of course, the chocolate mayor was re-elected in his chocolate town (his words, not mine.)

Take care of your eyes or I’m changing your name to Eye-na.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 5:02 am

Yes, I stayed focussed on the tv images from CNN those days, it was horrible that not enough was done. I can well imagine the mayor getting frustrated and a bit racist on the occasion, but perhaps he could have done something with those busses like yoy said. But it is all in the past now.

Will New Orleans ever be a save city you think?

We went to the carwash. There was a mother and two boys, who went there for the first time and those children had quite an adventure. “What will happen with the car!”
“It gets swallop up. It goes to fairytailland.”
    “Can I go there too?”
We had to stop them from dissapearing in the brushes.
Makes you wonder about rural life and all :) If a carwash is considered an attraction like Disneyworld? It is time this winter is over!

So much for surfing today :( Have fun!

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 5:03 am

I bet you pronounce Ina as Eye-na. Snotgood. :)

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 10:30 am

Is not good I mean :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 11:00 am

You take good care of your eyes, Ina. Or should I say EE-na? New Orleans will go back to what it once was. It has always been a vibrant city, filled with history and magic. It will never lose that.

I have been to car washes before that are quite the attractions. Here in Orlando, we call them bikini car washes. The girls always look so squeaky clean, too.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 11:04 am

Ee I think. Like the i in Tina.
Bikini car washes? There is a thought! Hm, I really wonder at times how America got to be such a great nation. Now I know :P It is common sense!

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 11:06 am

What’s not good? Your eyesight or your name?

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 11:33 am

Both, somehow. It is Klazina Suzanna btw but that is quite a mouthfull.
What happens if you ask for a wax treatment in a bikini carwash? I just had to come back and ask. But now you are gone of course.

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 11:45 am

Yes, Ina, and common sense tells one not to run a bikini car wash up north in the winter. Only in the sunny south. You should see some of the hot dog cart vendors. I’m surprised more cars don’t run off the road.

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 11:48 am

A wax at a bikini car wash. That is great! Funny! Funny! Funny!

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 11:50 am

Do you mean Toussaint Maria Lambertus Schroders/Klazina Suzanna Zeeders?

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 11:59 am

Hey how do you know that? Read my family tree lol?

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:00 pm

    I am maried to a Maria :(

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:06 pm

I am Marinade Dave, Secret Agent Man. You were not aware of that, Klazina?

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:10 pm

I just hope you didn’t get dizzy. Even my own family hates reading that tree :)

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:11 pm

So you have a gun to be Uncle S.A.M?

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:11 pm

No, it took one second to find and read what I wanted to know. It was easy.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:15 pm

How did you do that I wonder :) So quick.
I wonder if you have more names. First names I mean (or are they called seconds?)

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Does Velvis mean anything to you?

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:18 pm

:) That is how we met lol

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Velvis probably originates from Germany, (Feldwish ) I discovered. I told you we were cousins.

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Yes, that’s right, you did tell me that. I guess a lot of velvet Elvises are sold in Germany.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:28 pm

I seriously doubt that. Did you hear what Rathzinger aka the Pope pulled as stunt with that bisshop Williams something? Aaaah just when you think everything is ok …

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:29 pm

I mean, I thought he was ok. For a pope. But now…

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:35 pm

I have heard some things, but I’ll have to study up on the Pope/Holocaust thing. I’m not well versed at the moment.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Shal I give you the synopsis in English? Just a sec.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:38 pm

    http://www.fringegroups.com/2009/01/pope-benedict-and-bishop-richard.html

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:40 pm

See I can be quick too :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:52 pm

That’s how I remember seeing it in the news. Who knows the Pope’s motive, as the writer implies. Good thing I’m not Catholic.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 12:53 pm

Neither am I but it is scaring to think such people have so much power!

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 12:58 pm

I don’t know if I would read more into it than meets the eye. I don’t think the Pope would make such a public blunder if that is what it is at all, taken at face value only. I do not believe the Pope has ever been a Nazi sympathizer any more than Barack Obama is a Muslim terrorist sympathizer as some suggested during the campaign.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 1:04 pm

No. But his friend Williamson is an anti semitic. So that is not very handy. It makes him suspicious too. Williamson was ex communicated for a reason. But that is beyond my English I am afraid.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 1:06 pm

Must cook! Ganz vergessen! Aber Mann soll auch noch essen!

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 1:19 pm

Well, what the Pope does is not all that interesting to those of us outside of the Catholic faith, at least me, at the moment. I am interested in current affairs, yes, but this seems more to me like a very Catholic issue.

    By all means, go eat!

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Bin dass essen schon vergessen :)
But I am going to be out of your hair soon I think. Have a nice what is it, afternoon?

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 1:39 pm

Yes, it is afternoon. I need to go out for a little while anyway, so I will be back when you are sound asleep. Tuck Toussaint in properly.

  • Ina // February 4, 2009 at 1:43 pm

    We will be snug :)

  • Thinker Belle // February 4, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Dave, it is a very directional issue; one which has survived for more than half a decade…perhaps longer.

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 9:25 pm

I’m not saying anything about the Holocaust, Thinker Belle, I’m talking specifically about this particular issue, what the Pope did now. I don’t think the Pope is interested in opening old wounds about the past or that he is so insensitive to Jews to make such a blunder. I think there is more to the reason why he chose to do what he did and I’m not qualified to answer because I am not a Catholic looking at it as a sort of Papal transgression. I’m not all that interested in what the Southern Baptists do, either, since I am not one of those.

If anyone feels the Pope is in error, please discuss it. I would be more than happy to research what all transpired and say so here. Also, if I hear from Jewish organizations that his act was denounced, then it might spark a much more thorough investigation.

  • Thinker Belle // February 4, 2009 at 9:33 pm

I have to respond to Kit Lange’s predictions:

The first thing to note is her occupation-Air Force
    Secondly location-Mid-west America
    Third-Cultural beliefs-The Bible Belt…that has come unbuckled.

Though it has been said that I look like Natily of the Dixie Chicks, I must admit that I believe those in the Armed services are needed;however, it is their chosen occupation and therefore I do not feel sorry for them.

I have lived near a base before and just by judging from the way the towns look near bases, they aren’t qualified to comment on government spending.

And, having lived near them they aren’t qualified to comment on racial issues…most are racists…which is why someone told me I looked like Natily.

They make a big deal out of absolutely nothing and are very difficult people to be around…even those who are members of my own family.

They are the last that should talk about “handouts” because the majority of them have never worked a day in their lives…which is why the towns look the way they do and the infrastructure stays a mess…it’s all about fighting and bigotry.

I know people who have retired from the service that can’t tolerate even being near the base. They dread just going to the commissary for goods. They were made to behave in days gone by…that’s all changed.

So, they need to clean up their own back porch before they start spouting political BS.

  • Marinade Dave // February 4, 2009 at 9:43 pm

Hmm, so you look like Natalie Maines, huh? She’s the prettiest Dixie Chick. Oh, you were talking about something else. My brother is an Air Force major. he’d probably agree with what Kit Lange said, but one thing is certain, I haven’t seen or heard that Obama has given up on Israel yet, let alone from Day 1.

By the way, my brother lives outside of Scott Air Force Base, in a very nice town. I’ve visited him several times and, quite frankly, I know of no seedy towns around that base. Fort Dix, NJ, absolutely! Maybe the AF attracts a better crown than the Army.

  • Thinker Belle // February 4, 2009 at 10:58 pm

Apparently you’ve never been to Roswell NM…I went once, not knowing it was a military town…it is the same from state to state.

I thought I’d go see that alien thing…what a disappointment!

However, the people in the town acted the same way…they are a lot different in other parts of that state…I love NM. They are really nice!

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 3:18 am

Hi Thin :) About the Pope, here is a link I found today. Perhaps the pope will do what Angela Merkel told him to do, but somehow I don’t know. He probably doesn’t listen to women anyway :)

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 3:24 am

    Men in frogs seldom do..

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article5663726.ece

    I think I meant frocks?

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 7:33 am

I’ve never been to NM, but I did fly over it once. I guess that doesn’t count.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 7:45 am

Goodmorning, I suppose you are eating those muffins now? Or is that not every day?

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:06 am

Interesting. The Vatican says the Pope was not aware of Williamson’s views on the Holocaust when he lifted the excommunication.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:08 am

Now isn’t that strange :) You would expect them to know before reversing the fact. Williamson is a friend of Josef. Of course they knew!

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:11 am

Good morning, Ina. No, no muffins this morning. Probably oatmeal, your favorite. Cheerios sometimes. And bananas. Eggs only on Saturdays. I have a 10:30 appointment with the doctor to get the x-ray results, so I will start to get ready around 9:00. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get there.

    How are your eyes today?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:12 am

    Oatmeal. Sounds great :(
What will they say do you think? Do you feel any better?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:14 am

    What is a Cheerio?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:19 am

My eyes do fine today! Got a lot of gel in them :) And the screen is not bright.

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:22 am

I usually feel better in the morning. Some days are better than others. Yesterday, I felt like someone was scraping my bones with a knife. I know I get tired very easily. Lately, I’ve noticed my hands are getting fine lines and my fingertips are shriveling. I thought I was drinking enough water, but I guess not. I’ve never had that problem before, so I will ask her. Other than that, the main problem will have to be discussed with the hematologist, and I am working on that.

Cheerios are a breakfast cereal made from oats. They’re good. Sometimes, I eat them as a snack during the day. Here’s a quick link to give you an idea:

    Cheerios

I guess you’re used to eating dried herring over sheep milk for breakfast?

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:24 am

So, the screen idea helped. That’s good. And you figured it out without Toussaint’s help!

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:29 am

The “scraping bones with a knife” sort of shivered the sh.t out of me. Yikes. You better get that fixed!

Perhaps a cream for the skin?

Saw the Cheerio’s, I think we have those things here too but never ate them. I useally have 2 slices of bread with a little margarine and cheese. And a glass of orange juice or milk, and coffee. Very dull breakfast I think. I never drank sheep milk, but I do like the cheese :)

Yes the screen thing helped! It was so easy really. Fn plus F6

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:37 am

T is doing something with an electric drill …

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:38 am

Making a hole. He swears a lot :) I better stay away for a bit.

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:40 am

Yuck, I don’t like sheep’s milk or cheese. Just cow for me, thank you. I can’t stand lamb, either. Actually, I thought you’d be eating Vlokken and Hagelslag for breakfast.

There is no cream that would work. The pain is coming from inside the bones, not on the skin. Some days are worse than others. It’s been going on for a long time and it was just recently I was diagnosed with a blood disorder worse than just the thrombocytopenia (low platelets) and anemia, Now, it is time to find out what the underlying problem is and to see if there is something that can fix it. It is very serious, though.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:43 am

Vlokken en hagelslag is all chocolate, very tasty. Do you eat that, that you know them?

Inside the bones, that is marrow?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:53 am

Well good luck, you should be going I suppose.

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 8:57 am

Yes, bone marrow, although it does feel like scraping the meat off my bones. It would have to be emanating from the inside, I guess.

I’ve never eaten Vlokken en hagelslag, but it does sound good. Do you eat any cereals in der Nederlander? Wheathelmina?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:57 am

Hope you get some good advise.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 8:58 am

:) Brinta! And Kellogs in all sorts!

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:00 am

When a child is born, you will eat beschuit met muisjes.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:00 am

    Cheerio!

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 9:04 am

WHAT!!!? Brinta, but no LU Cracottes? I’m surprised you have Kellogg’s. That is very American, you know. We can buy muisjes here.

  • Thinker Belle // February 5, 2009 at 9:08 am

    Mornin’
I’ve been trying to hit and miss on this blog…I’m way behind, so I’ll just jump in mid-way.

Dave, I din’t know you were ill. I am so sorry and truly wish there was something I could do; it sounds like you know a lot more about it than I ever could.

I could make a reccomendation, however, about the skin problems you are encoutering due to your illness. Cetaphil is a hydrating creme that will keep the moisture in. Put it on after getting out of the shower and you’ll notice quite a difference. The creme is better than the lotion.

Try to eat more fruits and vegtables too.

Thanks for the link Ina. I don’t know much about Catholicism since I am not Catholic. I did catch that video you posted earlier; this debate has been going on for decades. It is basically about documentation and revisionist history more than the number of people murdered.

In times of economic stress people become very cruel, much like the Germans of the 2oth century. They have a natural tendency to blame one segment of society for their woes.

Even the Germans have accepted the senseless murders of the Jews as fact-it is illegal in their country to state otherwise.

It always get brought up during military conflicts for some odd reason or another-WWII is over and has been for years.

There are still survivors of the Holocaust that state the meaningless slaughter was real. Many Nazis were forced into becoming Nazis.

What have we learned from that? Not much, because much of America’s attitudes reflected the same sentiment as the Germans as many refugee children were turned away, much racism caused strife within the country, and now many claim that it simply didn’t exist, nor does it exist now.

It’s like ignore it and it will go away-it doesn’t.

Trust me, it isn’t just the Catholics that feel that way.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:10 am

Cracottes too! And Knäckebrott! I don’t understand why you eat muisjes overthere? It is not very nice :) .
Yes Kellogs is american. We also eat brwonies :P

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:11 am

    Brownies I mean.
    Ever had gestampte muisjes?

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:12 am

Quess I had it: Last word :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 9:16 am

I was mistaken. We sell meusli, a multi-grain cereal. Knäckebrott is a crispy snack food. Never heard of brwonies. Brownies, yes. Time to get ready.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 9:20 am

    Guess not :) Bye

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 9:52 am

    Good morning, Thinker Belle -

I can’t write much at the moment due to the doctor appointment, but yes, I’ve got something wrong in there somewhere, some kind of blood problem. The dehydration is a new thing. I’ve never had a problem like that before, but my hands shrivel up like a prune and they look like something on a corpse. When I see them getting like that, I drink a gallon of water and they puff back out. Weird, to say the least.

I’ll delve more into the Holocaust thing, but I need to go and I haven’t eaten yet. Unfortunately, but speaking of religion, your comment got stuck in spam purgatory for a little while. Sorry about that. I’ll be back.

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 10:59 am

Hi TB, a bit late thanks to the invention of the spamfilter, but you came anyway :) I meant the comment! ( before I am misunderstood. That happens at times.) I think I understand you and agree.

Here is another link about the subject:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/europe/7869995.stm
    in case you are interested.

I am no catholic either, but that doesn’t matter.
It is all about numbers, I think. That (former excommunicated) bishop Williamson simply denies the murders of millions.

It was a mistake to make him bishop again, so the Vatican says now. Well, if the mistake will be undone as soon as possible, I will shut up about it too. That is only fair. (Like they will care what I say.)

I don’t think it has anything to do with the increasing numbers of new nazi’s in Germany btw. I don’t think the pope is a nazi, and I don’t think catholics are nazi’s! I don’t think Germans are nazi’s as a nation. But the most important Catholic in the world sure has a friend who hates jews.

I just think people should be aware of the danger that lies hidden there. What will he preach? That is the only reason I brought it up. It just came to mind mentioning something German :)

I don’t know about the sending away of refugees in America, I know a lot of refugees has been send away here some years ago. The country is full, they say. Probably there is truth in that, but where do the people that are desperate for a place to live, end up, I wonder. Are their lives less worth than ours? But that is a different subject.

Now I am away from the screen for today I think. Still not sure it is in front of me or that I am in front of it. :)

  • Ina // February 5, 2009 at 11:00 am

 that’s a bit of a long comment for me :)

  • Newbie // February 5, 2009 at 4:46 pm

Do you care to share what the doc had to say today?

  • Marinade Dave // February 5, 2009 at 4:58 pm

Sure, why not. No pneumonia was present in the right lung, but a disease was found in the upper lobe. The word disease could encompass a number of problems. It means something is there and the radiologist is not the person to diagnose it. So, on top of the hematologist/oncologist I have yet to see, add a pulmonologist to the list. Lucky me. In the meantime, I have a prescription, FREE! at Publix, for amoxycillin, an antibiotic to help treat my hands, which the doctor thinks is due to the strep infection from the pneumonia. Why it affects my hands, I do not know, but apparently, it’s not uncommon. I don’t think the lung problem is cancer, because it doesn’t appear to be one mass. Who knows what it is, but I will keep my chin up.

    Thank you for asking, Newbie.

  • Thinker Belle // February 5, 2009 at 6:30 pm

I read that Ina. What that guy is saying is that the “evidence” doesn’t support the theory that they were gassed in chambers-he had sited door leakage, lack of tall stacks for ventilation, etc. to support cyanide use.

The “evidence” suggests 300,000 were killed.

Okay…the first thing you do when caught in the act of a crime is to destroy the “evidence.” Lol!

However, they may have been killed by another chemical that no one else had the science to know what it was, and, they may have been cremated. Surely people looking for their ancestors could give an approximate number of deaths. And, many were mixed with other races…they had wished to cleanse the entire bloodline.

  • Newbie // February 6, 2009 at 7:48 am

    Dave,

The best news is that it is not cancer in the lung. The word disease ……ugh. My “pollyAnna” reaction is to say thank God for modern medicine yet at this point, you must feel as if you are in a deep hole and not sure of getting out.

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 8:03 am

Yes, Newbie, I sort of do feel that way sometimes. My doctor said that she didn’t think it was a cancer because it was not described as a single mass. I am more concerned with my blood right now and what the problem is, but something in the lung is not something I can overlook.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 8:07 am

Goodmorning :) Just one more day till eggday?

  • Newbie // February 6, 2009 at 8:44 am

Ina….there you are. I thought maybe you were out of the house as I didn’t see your scarf anywhere this morning.

  • Newbie // February 6, 2009 at 8:46 am

    Dave, very true.

  • Newbie // February 6, 2009 at 8:49 am

Man, the computer is totally slow, slow, slow this morning. I talked to a gal yesterday who said her computer had a virus and she was given a quote of $120 to fix it…..ouch!

  • Newbie // February 6, 2009 at 8:53 am

I am headed off of here…..Dave’s writing or finishing a new post and Ina is….who knows.

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 8:58 am

HA! One more day, yup, and good morning to you, Ina. I was having a terrible problem with the computer this morning. It kept slowing down and I kept rebooting. I think it’s OK now. The comment I left for Sheron took about a half hour because it would stop typing for about a minute, catch up, and stop again. I couldn’t do anything.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 9:07 am

Just back from groceries .:) Bought Vlokken! You mentioning it got me gravings.
    Hi Newbie!

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 9:08 am

Your computer needs a holiday :) Send it to Sillicon Valley! It will love it there!

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 9:13 am

You mean cravings. I ate a little dark chocolate for breakfast on the way to the doctor’s office. Hershey’s. Now, I must get ready to go to a funeral, actually a memorial for a friend, my age, who recently died of a massive heart attack. It was a surprise to us all.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 9:17 am

Oh that is sad. See you later.

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 9:21 am

Yeah, he was a good guy. Oh well. Anyway, I’ll be back before I go.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 10:39 am

Somehow this last comment haunts me. Are you gone now?

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 10:49 am

Haunts you? No, I haven’t left this world yet. I am still very much alive.

    BOO!

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 10:54 am

AAAAH a bald ghost! I am in the curtains now, thanks!

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 10:58 am

Oh, no it is you :) You boo-ed.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 11:02 am

I have a question. No hurry :) How do we call this decade? We had the eighties , the nineties but what are these years we live in now, called? The zero’s? The nillies??

  • Marinade Dave // February 6, 2009 at 11:05 am

And I am leaving for a few hours. I will catch you later, or in CB speak, on the flip-flop.

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 11:08 am

    Weird language, english

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 11:12 am

-lets herself drop out of the curtains, knowing she will be caught-
    Ouch!
    Oh yes. He said later.
    Later!

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 1:44 pm

Hey I saw your last posting only just now, strange enough. I need glasses I think. :)

  • Ina // February 6, 2009 at 1:45 pm

    better ones that is.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 10:13 am

    Are you with coffee?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 10:18 am

Hm that was the worst English I’ve ever written. I hope you are writing on a new blog :) Goodmorning anyway.

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 10:38 am

Actually, Ina, I am with coffee and pancakes at the moment. sugarless syrup, of course.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 10:41 am

    Pancakes! Double eggday?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 10:43 am

Well enjoy I am making a quiche something. Not Loraine because I forgot some ingrediënts I think :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 11:01 am

I think I’ll fry up a couple of eggs for lunch instead. Maybe put some sharp Cheddar cheese on top. Everything I shouldn’t eat.

  • Newbie // February 7, 2009 at 11:01 am

    Where’d everybody go?

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 11:04 am

Ina was here a minute ago. I am here. Thinker Belle might be found here or at her blog. She wrote a nice piece asking for people to send their condolences to the Anthony family.

  • Newbie // February 7, 2009 at 11:07 am

    I’m off to read thinkerbelle’s piece then…..thanks.

  • Thinker Belle // February 7, 2009 at 11:11 am

Okay, I’ve Googled myself and the blog is on page two. If you can think of anything I should add I will do so. I have noticed the ranking moves…I’ve moved up, and I’ve moved back in the past. I don’t know how that works.

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 11:22 am

I know a little about how search engines work. Just for kicks, Google Kevin Tan. Kevin Tan was captain of the men’s gymnastics team at the Beijing Olympics.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 11:44 am

I am back from mothers. I think it is safe to plan a short trip to Paris :)

Aha more to read! I am of to the Place de la Belle :)

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 11:51 am

If I google kevin tan I get your blog as nummero 3.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 12:34 pm

OK I am out of your hair since you are not paying any attention about my great news (Paris!). Suppose you are writing. I can be found sulking above my quiche.

:) Hope you enjoyed all eggs :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 12:47 pm

Actually, Ina, I was finishing a good WWII movie, The Bridge Over the River Kwai, from 1957. You are going to Paris!? When? And for how long?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:01 pm

Ha, so there you are. :) Yes, we are planning. Sometime in March . By train from Amsterdam and a cheep hotel. Just 4 nights. A holiday just for the 2 of us! First time since 1988! And that was a camping trip/slash marriage to attend thing.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I saw Saving private Ryan yesterday (Shaving Ryans privates as we call the film here in the house, not funny really) but it was too bloody so I quite when I saw guts hanging out :(

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 1:14 pm

Yes, I am here for a while. Paris will be very nice. My best friend, Stewart and his wife, An, go there every couple of years. They love it. On my Blogroll, there’s a guy named Fruey. He is a British ex-pat living outside of Paris. Good guy. We’ve communicated on and off via the Internet/blogging for, I’d say, at least 3 years now. Drop him a line, if you feel compelled to do so. You know me, I like it when people meet and become friends.

Oh, yes. Shaving Ryan’s Privates was a porn movie that came out right after the Tom Hanks flick. No, I never saw it.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:17 pm

I have been reading his blog actually, he has a kid I think :) I’ll see what tips he might have, good idea :)
I have been in Paris 6 times, but always short, just spending time between trains. This will be different. T wants to really see things too. Like a good museum :)

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Was it? I never saw that. Pitty :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Museums, yes, and you can’t beat the food. It reminds me of another porn video, An Evening in Paris, but that was Paris Hilton.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:22 pm

    What is an ex-pat…?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Hm, somehow Paris and sex allways get mixed up. I want a real big bed anyway. Once in Paris, we won’t have to care about the neighbours, now will we :) We will probably just sleep, but still.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 1:27 pm

What parent in its right mind names a daughter after a hotel I think. That is asking for overnight guests?

An ex-pat is a person living outside of their native country, not just visiting, but getting a house, a job, a license, etc. I don’t know who would name their child after a city, but it might have other meanings. Take the little boy who disappeared 2.5 years ago, Trenton Duckett. Trenton is the capital of NJ, but it has nothing to do with his name. Of course, he doesn’t have a hotel in Trenton named after him, either.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Hm, Hilton is the last name, can’t be helped I suppose, but Paris? O well. I wonder if she has a sister called Beverly.
Do they still put pictures of missing children on milkcartons in the US? I saw that somewhere. Perhaps a good idea?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 2:04 pm

    Did it ever have succes?

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 2:17 pm

Did what ever have success? The Paris Hilton? Yes, no doubt about it. There is no Beverley Hilton, but she does have an Uncle Milton.

I don’t ever buy cartons of milk. I don’t drink it, so when I need it, I buy those little pint containers. I don’t know if pictures of children are still on the back, but I heard in San Francisco they put the backs of heads on the milk cartons.

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 2:23 pm

Well that is because there, there are no two backheads alike.
Just heard Australia is burning and bishop Wiliamson is not going to withdrawl his words.
    Are you still eating?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 2:23 pm

    withdraw?

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 2:31 pm

    Oops got to go bye

  • Ina // February 7, 2009 at 5:24 pm

It is strange, on your other blog I have a different avatar. But not here.
    Well, goodnight anyway :)

  • Thinker Belle // February 7, 2009 at 9:05 pm

FYI-some of your well wishers are already talking out of both sides of their mouth…thought you should know so you wouldn’t embarrass yourself…guess it’s the ole’ red/white/ and blue tradition…big me/little you! Find a victim and victimize them more…sell those stabilizing drugs everyone is on these days.

  • Marinade Dave // February 7, 2009 at 9:41 pm

Why am I not surprised about that, thinker? There are so many 2-faced people in this world. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 1:43 am

You are welcome Dave, my cat is nice…even when it was vaccinated yesterday.

I spammed your tree guy…sounds like you may have a local yoko competing for attention at the memorial.

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 7:20 am

That weirdo who left the two nasty comments is from Chicago. He doesn’t think I know. He’s not going to be at the memorial.

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 9:11 am

Good…hope you are right about location.

Looks like you’ve gotten many more positive heartfelt replies! That is encouraging!

It is so great for you to do this when saying anything positive online usually has negative consequences.

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 9:30 am

I checked out his IP addresses. The idiot shifts from one to another and back again. They point to Chicago each time. From now on, I am going to treat him like the gnat he is and delete everything, even if the comment makes sense.

I have gotten lots of visits since last night and many are from your post, but I can’t tell who all has left messages other than the ones that wrote comments on your post. Also, another website wrote about it and that has helped considerably:

    http://www.examiner.com/x-1168-Crime-Examiner~y2009m2d7-Blogger-attending-Caylee-Anthony-memorial-will-give-family-your-condolences

I really do appreciate your support, Thinker Belle. You have helped me tremendously by being there. I guess I’ve always been an against the tide sort of guy, especially when I know it is the right way to be, and in this case, it really is. Those people are mourning. they need a respite from all the hatred.

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 3:25 pm

Good-afternoon?- Quiet Sunday, or are you doing things? I still have more than 7.000 words to do, I don’t think I will though. Sunday’s.

    Perhaps you know something inspiring.

I almost tip toe’d in here, but this is Open Forum so I guess it is ok to just say hi :) Hi!

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 4:02 pm

I wondered what happened to you. I thought maybe you were eating snails and crepes preparing yourself for the trip. I have been writing a piece that can’t run until after I write the one describing the memorial I plan on attending. Gee, I’m only up to 700 words and you have 7,000 to go?

I saw your new avatar on GB, but I didn’t respond yet since I hadn’t signed in. Do you sign in here at WordPress? I forget. If you do, you need to change it to the new one here at WordPress. I think that’s where I originally set it up. It doesn’t just follow you everywhere you go. You have a Blogger blog and so do I. That’s why the new one shows up there, which I haven’t been to today, yet.

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:10 pm

I never signin? But the avatar here is fine too :)
My stories are 23.000 each. Some good times I did one in 5 days, but these days it takes some weeks unfortunately.
Snails o no. France, I forgot the snails.
    What’s it about, your piece?

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:12 pm

You make it sound quite a trip, going to your other blog! :)

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:20 pm

    This man keeps dissappearing?

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 4:31 pm

No, not at all, but when I write, I tend to stay focused, maybe too focused at times. And the other blog sometimes takes forever to load, like Thinker Belles, unless I keep it open all day and reload occasionally.

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Refresh you mean? I am not very technicall.
Reload is what you do with a gun?

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:38 pm

So it is just wait till wednesday to see what you are writing now? I am writing about a farmer who dies. So I showed you mine

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:44 pm

I think I will do the farmer in. He just won’t go himself. He will be struck by lightning as he is standing in the door, watching his daughter run away. He is not nice anyway.

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 4:55 pm

By all means, kill the dirty rotten scoundrel. It’s your story. The one I was working on won’t run until after I write one about attending the memorial. It’s a much more complex and detailed piece with some interestingly new characters, although they really aren’t new at all. They’re just pieces of the puzzle that people aren’t thinking about.

Refresh/reload… eh? I’ve never owned a gun. Reloading to me has a completely different meaning. I can take fresh bread and load it into the toaster. If it doesn’t toast enough, I wouldn’t refresh it, I would reload it to make it darker.

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:56 pm

    O

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 4:58 pm

New characters? You make me curious. Can you lift something? A tip of the vail? Vale?

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 5:22 pm

    Veil. Know eye cant.

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 5:24 pm

Two bed. Too bad I mean. I will weight. :)

  • Ina // February 8, 2009 at 5:31 pm

…And after the lightning, he will get run over by a truck, drowned in a ditch and die of a heart attack. I won’t take half meassurements with this man.

Hehe and now off to bad.

Night! Und lass die Bettschwanzen nicht bissen :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 5:37 pm

    Alrighty then, Nighty Night, Ina.

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 7:10 pm

Hi Dave…noticed you got a few more condolences…that’s great. Just checked out the Sentinel and they tried the same thing…beothing and griping all the way! My blog didn’t reach that many yesterday…maybe I’ll do another and include the Eulogy…I think most are focused on Casey and now that Padilla is returning Caylee doesn’t stand a chance. Try it again for those who could care less about Caylee…Maybe if they write it, they will believe it!

I think that man is jealous of a dead baby! I swear!

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 7:14 pm

I should have wrote I’ll try it again…pick up some more viewers…You’ve gotten more positive comments than anyone else I’ll bet!

    Some are afraid I suppose!

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 7:17 pm

What’s this about up to 700 words and the other is up to 7000 words?

  • Marinade Dave // February 8, 2009 at 8:12 pm

Sorry I wasn’t here a while ago, Thinker Belle. I was watching 60 Minutes.

I remember in November, when I met and talked to Padilla, he wasn’t afraid to admit one of his goals was to gain more exposure, so I know he had ulterior motives when he posted bond. Everyone I’ve talked to remotely attached to the case says the same thing. I’m not knocking that in and of itself, but it does perplex me that he is holding an alternate memorial service at the site where Caylee was found. The other camp is praising him for doing it, yet my question is, who made him surrogate father to Caylee?

Yes, I have gotten more comments, but I’ll bet you I had 400 hits on that post today, about half the total, so I’m lucky if I got 10% of the people saying anything at all. I guess 90% feel the other way or are just not comment type people. Maybe, they came to read. I have to admit, it was a pretty busy Sunday, better than usual. I don’t know about you, but Saturdays are slower here than other days. I don’t think I even had 400 hits yesterday.

The 700/7000 thing is about what Ina and I were writing. She had about 7000 more words to write and I was up to about 700 words on a new post I’m working on, but I won’t finish it or publish it until after I write about the memorial service.

We should try to work together once in a while, so we can feed off and complement each other. Besides, you’re a heck of a lot better looking than me. If the memorial post was about something else, like a regular post, I would have linked to the one you wrote in a heartbeat.

  • Thinker Belle // February 8, 2009 at 10:02 pm

Padilla presence sends the stats up…so does talk of the death penalty, or any gossip mongering news…guess that why they beotch and moan so much.

I am happy to link to you just to read something positive…thank you for setting up the post just for that purpose.

  • Anonymous // February 9, 2009 at 8:33 am

FYI-I’ve just learned that Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest Caylee’s Memorial.

Bet Nancy Grace and Leonard Padilla are bursting with joy!

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 8:48 am

Interesting, but who cares about a bigot like Fred Phelps of Topeka, Kansas? He’s a nut case and so are his followers. They bring death and hatred to Christianity.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 8:52 am

Why will they protest? What is the use??
    Goodmorning btw

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 9:22 am

I googled it up. “Got hates you”? It is an anti gaychurch. ?
Is there such a thing? That is discrimination, and that is against the law I think.
And what has that to do with this memorial?
I think I have too many questions and it is only morning where you are. I just don’t understand it for a bit. But if you know any answers, and have time, please tell? First drink your coffee :)

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 9:29 am

And I read more on that site. These idiots can just do that?? It is asking for hate, that is never allowed in no country with human rights! Freedom is nice, but this is something fascist!

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 9:32 am

This is what the site said, you better delete it after reading, it is sick:
“First Baptist Church of Orlando – You Hate little Caylee! 3000 S. John Young Parkway For several weeks/months now this nation has been worshiping at the metaphorical graveside of a little girl named Caylee Anthony. HOW DARE YOU, YOU HYPOCRITES! It is YOUR FAULT the little baby girl is dead and you have the nerve to criticize the one who no doubt killed her? You taught your children that God is a liar when you told them that God loves everyone. That God loves you just like you are. That God didn’t make no junk! Now you all with one voice RAGE against the one responsible, the simple slut mother who you taught to HATE little Caylee. You tell your females that abortion is not murder, and that it is okay to be gay (a fag) so what other possible message was this girl to get? Therefore, WBC will picket this worship service of the long gone little girl. Of a truth, what this “mother” did to that child is far kinder than what her mother did (and still does)to her. THIS is what they should have taught this little tart: Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, BUT THEY REFUSED! So, now THIS is what the DOOMED american whore mothers/grandmothers must teach their daughters: Jeremiah 9:20 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation. IT IS A CURSE when your child is slaughtered and left in a shallow grave in a trash bag, and you do this to your children every day because YOU HATE YOUR CHILDREN! All from the hand of God because God Hates america! AMEN! P.S. Tell that stupid grandfather to get a grip and next time he “tries” to kill himself, to just MAN UP and do the job right this time! Either way he’s going to hell.”

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 9:40 am

Good morning, Miss Sunshine. Yes, they are idiots and yes, they can do that. There is a separation of church and state in this country, guaranteed by the Constitution. More importantly, there is that good old right to free speech thing and that includes the right to protest. There is a vague line that separates it from a hate speech. It is OK to say you hate the president or you hate all Democrats or you hate all n*ggers, etc., but you cannot say you are going to do harm, such as, I hate the president (or fags) so much, I’m going to burn down the White House or a gay bar. The sick organization, KKK, can march in parades if they apply for a permit, depending on community laws and standards. On the other hand, it is our right to protest the protesters. If the stupid Westboro Church, which is more of a strange cult to me, plans to hold an anti-memorial for Caylee, then so be it. Why would anyone with a sane mind care what they do as long as they do no harm to others? Maybe, God will send them a tornado.

Interestingly, Newbie just sent me an e-mail regarding that church and its leader. What a coincidence.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 9:48 am

Let that be a testimony to how corrupt some religions are and how they interpret the Bible in evil ways. If they show up in protest, I’ll make sure I get some interesting photographs of their un-graven images. This should absolutely explain why security will be necessary tomorrow.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 9:56 am

It is creepy. Too much ‘freedom’ if you ask me. I wouldnot go if I were you. They want a fight I think.
Creepy to that Newbie send an email, but she must have read the same comment I suppose. We are not telepatical with each other and we don’t have each other emailadresses. :)

Sunshine? I am being my cheerfull self, aren’t I.

What time of month is it…

If you go tomorrow, take a pepperspray :) and water to drink.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 10:07 am

I’m not afraid of getting hurt. There will be plenty of sheriff’s deputies and the protesters will have to keep a safe distance away. I don’t think there is ever too much freedom of speech, although I know plenty of arch conservatives and ultra liberals who think otherwise. As long as no harm is done to anyone, I don’t have much of a problem with it. Sure, they can spew hatred out of their mouths, but in the end, most people ignore it and others may learn how rotten humanity can be at times. It can work the in an opposite manner and turn into a valuable lesson to those with open minds and a hunger for knowledge of fringe elements of society.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 10:12 am

As long as no harm is done to anyone, but they harm peolpe verbally don’t they? Freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can abuse others?

I really got a (bit of a ) shock reading that stuff.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 10:22 am

They only hurt people who allow themselves to feel hurt. Most people ignore weirdos because of what they are: sick in the head. Besides, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” Sure, it seems unfair, but would you rather live in a country where freedom of speech is so curtailed that the pent up sickos revolt in anger and violence instead? Let them vent. Besides, law enforcement will arrest anyone who takes it a step too far.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 10:34 am

If you say so. Let the sicko’s have their say. I don’t see it that way though, I think it is rediculous that there should be police at a memorial service! Probably with loaded guns? Do you really feel free that way?
But that is a matter of getting used to, I suppose.

  • Thinker Belle // February 9, 2009 at 10:50 am

    Good Morning!

Ina, the Westboro Baptist Church doesn’t represent a large percentage of protestant beliefs, though in theory they may, but, how they get their word out to non-believers only serves to turn others away.

Unfortunately, I disagree with Dave that they are just getting vent up anger out of their system when the publicly protest. I think they hope for something else to happen and they hope to force others into believing as they do.

You just wait…after the WBC us finished, the media will be trying to garner support of homosexual issues.

They want you to believe they are everywhere when in fact there really aren’t that many born homosexual…many think it is the norm. I believe that some are truly born the way they are…not all.

They will try to put the family on trial like the protesters did, just watch…it’s the same thing, just a different set of people.

Casey had a child out of wedlock-now that child is dead-Whamo! It’s the family’s fault!

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 11:00 am

What I meant by let them vent was let them protest all they want. I would rather have that than an underground organization festering in quiet earnest, waiting to explode with more than mere words.

Ina, do your police not carry any firearms? We are not the only country or society that needs protection from kooks. We cannot allow anarchy rule any more than we can allow groups like al Qaida to flourish here. And they have plenty of guns. Should we use sticks against them?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:03 am

    Hi Thinker!

Churches somehow always seem to have trouble with homosexuality.

Homosexuality is already proven to be in one’s
system from birth, is it not? One out of 4 people is gay, so I learned. It can’t be ‘gotten’ from education or something like that. You are or you are not.
A lot of people don’t dare to say they are. Now that is a shame, I think.

I always told my 3 sons that the change they would like someone of their own gender was there, and that they should not worry about that, it’s ok to feel like that, even if most people have feelings for the opposite sex. Well so far 2 are straight for a fact, and they always act normal to gay people. It usually isn’t important what someone is ‘like’ .
    How did we get here?
Churh of hate. I think the regular church must do all in its power to get those hate people silenced. I don’t think it is a good idea to make people hate others.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:08 am

I think they do have fire arms. But they don’t go to funerals from dead children I hope (I don’t know of memorial sercvices here, but Catholics do that I think)
Anarchy is what you get if you allow people to appeal to hate.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:22 am

I do think a lot :) don’t I. Doesn’t mean I am right of course. I just like to think I am. 4 sounds much to me too btw.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 11:28 am

I agree no church should ever preach hatred or discrimination. They should teach to love one another regardless of political or sexual persuasion. The Bible does not specifically preach against homosexuality, but there are verses that say a man should be with a woman and a man should not lie with another man. It also preaches against masturbation and adultery. Would these same preachers condemn those who masturbate when they are guilty of it themselves? Too many religious leaders are total hypocrites. Do as I say, not as I do. Help the poor as they live in million dollar mansions.

As far as police attending funerals carrying firearms, don’t be ridiculous. Hardly ever is there a call for police protection at such an event. It is only because of violent people out there that wish to do the Anthonys harm. Look what happens when political cartoonists mock the religion of Islam. They are murdered and their families are threatened. Is it the cartoonists’ fault or the terrorists out there?

Anarchy is not all about violence or hatred, either. Without some semblance of rule, people could go around fornicating in the streets and pooping everywhere, whenever they want. Is that violent or filled with hatred? Who wants to step in poop?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:37 am

It is not so much what the bible says, but how churches are towards gays that gives problems I think. A lot of priests are gay? But they have to be silent about it.
As for funerals : I did not say police do attend? I say I hope they won’t (have to) go there. The fact that it is necessary now, in Orlando, for them to be there, is a result of the freedom (in the Western world if you like ), the freedom that therefore brings unfreedom.

The last part about anarchy I don’t understand.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:47 am

Oh now I see. I agree. That is anarchy too if you like. There should be rules.

  • Thinker Belle // February 9, 2009 at 11:51 am

Well Dave, in the cartoonist case it is clear they intended to make a mockery of their religion. In the protesters case in front of their home it is clear, to me that is, they intended to mock not only Casey, but her entire family. Most showed no evidence of having one iota of sense…most were children wanting to run the world from their ignorant point of view.

I’ll bet Nancy Grace’s children won’t attend school with those people’s kids! Padilla was told from the very beginning that Casey wouldn’t be allowed to talk about Caylee…Miller should have known that too.

If Casey had wanted that child back, she had friends that were police officers that she could have gone to.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 11:57 am

What cartoonist was murdered? I only know of threats by muslim extremists with no sense of humour, but I hadn’t heartd anyone was actually killed.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:00 pm

And I do think they had a right to be upset, even if I personally think it was a lot to do about nothing. For those muslims the picture of Mohamed is an insult to their profet. Others can respect that. They shouldn’t threaten though.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:01 pm

That’s why I was saying that too many churches don’t practice what they preach. Take this Caylee issue, as a perfect example of hatred without violence. Look at the garbage that’s out there and how people want nothing but misery and punishment for the Anthonys. I will bet you most of those people are Christians that go to church regularly. If not, they still think they are holier than thou. How dare them judge. Who do they think they are? It is human response that is the cause, not the religion itself. If the Bible preaches love and compassion, why do people not practice it? I’ll tell you why. They talk a good talk about how Christ is forgiving. They tell you, as good Christians, how you must be a believer in order to be saved. Oh, how wonderful the New Testament is. Then, suddenly, they hit you when they THINK (read: their interpretation of law) you have done something wrong and revert back to the Old Testament of an eye for an eye and punishment that fits the crime in their eyes. How can these people be so vile against a family they have never met? How can they be so judgmental? Who gave them that right? God? By what authority? This is the one thing that disturbs me the most about organized religion. Their interpretations are so hypocritical and only work for their benefit. How dare they tell me how to live my life.

Anarchy is no rule at all. You do what you want. If you want to fornicate in front of the town square, no laws tell you not to. If you want to shoot someone, you just do it. If someone wants to shoot you, they do it, too.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:08 pm

Are there more churches that are against the Anthony family? Preachers that make an exampe of them how not to live?
Good thing people can think for themselves :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:10 pm

Wasn’t there a famous filmmaker murdered by Muslim extremists?

Don’t you think if we live in a permissible society – any country in the world – it is OK to make a satirical movie or draw an uncomplimentary cartoon? What gives a religion the right to preach murder and follow through with it? There is a huge difference between protesters screaming in front of the Anthony home and Muslim extremists who kill for no reason at all, because you don’t follow their faith.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:13 pm

I don’t know of any other churches like the Westboro one (with regard to the Anthonys,) but that doesn’t excuse people who act on their own, preaching their own form of vengeance, basing it on religious doctrine.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:18 pm

Van Gogh. (Yes he was related to Vincent)
The film was a protest aginst the postion of women in Muslim tradition.
No religion should preach murder of course!
But not all muslims are extremists. They are here to stay, and we have to live with them the best way possible. I think it will even mean that our society will have to give in some freedom, like pornography on the streets. Mohamed is the name most used for new born babies in Amsterdam these days. Ignore that, and you are not being realistic. But we have to watch out not to let the essence of freedom be touched.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Perhaps we better get rid of religion altogether :)
Get rid= by talking about it, not by violence or restrictions. Just realizing that it is about people. That everyone is a person and should be treated with respect.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Fortunately, most Muslims are not extremists. Fortunately, too, that most Christians are not, either. Westboro Baptist Church is a good example of religion gone awry. They preach Christianity, yet they would never turn the other cheek. They practice stone throwing and sin at the same time.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:27 pm

I sure hope they leave the stones at home tomorrow.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:29 pm

We can never rid ourselves of religion and I don’t think we ever should. For one thing, governments can’t regulate thought. They’ve tried in the past, but it doesn’t work. Ever. Besides, there is so much goodness and giving in the world, plenty due to religious people who open up their hearts. One cannot affirm that all religion is bad any more than stating that all hate and violence stems from religion.

  • Newbie // February 9, 2009 at 12:33 pm

I’m just now free to catch up with you all. Fred Phelps….I knew he would manage to get his publicity

Dave, they usually sing hate-hymns, bring their children to picket with them and laugh at whoever chooses to make a remark to them.
They picketed at the time of the funeral if the kids that were recently murdered by their father. One of their signs was More Children need to die. They carry signs thanking God for 9/11.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Religion has done a lot of good in the times people were killing others, weaker than themselves, just like that. Ill? Kill the child. It gave some regulation I suppose. And the rulers abused religion to gain power over the poor.
But we shouldn’t need a god to be good to other people. It can come from the fact we are all human beings? Is that not enough?
Meanwhile even religious people still kill each other just like that. Blow themselves up. There is no respect for the live of others there, and that should matter most, I think.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:41 pm

You sure did call this one right, Newbie. That is one weird cult. If they are there tomorrow, I will make sure I get some pictures of the Nazi wannabees.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:42 pm

You beter delete that post with his quotes. No need to make an add for him, newbie is right.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:47 pm

Is your equipment ok for tomorrow? So that you won’t have to bang it?

  • Thinker Belle // February 9, 2009 at 12:48 pm

I think that the Muslims express the way they feel about the future of their society and how they’d like it to be much like Americans express how they would like their society to be.

However, Casey Anthony is the rare individual that tosses away her child when compared to those who don’t. In the same token, many children are exposed to way too much ranting and raving, violence, bullying in their own homes and neighborhood to have to expect to see more of that if someone in their area is accused of a crime. They are inundated with crime TV, the Internet offers no shield for their minds, and people are becoming more and more self-centered and quicker to judge because of mass media. IMO.

BTW-Loud Mouth Shelley has posted something very, very nasty about Leonard Padilla…I’m surprised WordPress allowed it!

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Not very poetical of Shelley :)
    Where was that?

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:51 pm

Not all religion is bad any more than all atheists are good. People are people. I see no harm in believing in a god if left in its purist form. If it helps maintain peace and reminds people of the difference between right and wrong, what harm does it do? It is only those who take religious content to an abstract level and interpret scripture to their own liking that messes up the works. Besides, who wrote the Bible? Man, with all his flaws.

Don’t tell anyone I said this, but if more women were in charge, we’d have less war and famine and hate and sex. Oops! Actually, I think the world would be a much safer place, even if I had to make my bed every morning and plant flowers and smell good all the time.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:52 pm

    less sex? why?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:53 pm

Ok, religion can stay :) But I won’t wear a burka!

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:54 pm

Who is Loud Mouth Shelley and where do I read what she posted?

  • Newbie // February 9, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I promise they will be there. Sadly, they are from Topeka, Kansas.
There also should be a Patriot Guard. After years of their abuse, the Guard was formed. It is basically persons with motorcycles and flags get around the Phelps to shield viewers from them and to drown out their singing. Anyone who wants to be a part of the Patriot Guard’s protection can join them whether they have a motorcycle or not.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:56 pm

    Sort of Hells Angels?

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 12:57 pm

I’d rather that more people learn of Phelps hatred. I’ve learned a lot from people on how not to be. He’s a perfect example.

I will have to bang the camera to get it to work, but when it does, it will be fine.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:58 pm

No. Patriot Guard is something else I see.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Just watch out for those luney’s.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:00 pm

We want you back in one piece.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I’m not afraid at all. Just all the traffic driving down I-4 during rush hour to get to the church is what scares me. I might have to plan a different route, but I will leave here by 7:30. Seating starts at 9:00 and I think the church will fill up fast.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:06 pm

And finding a parking space no doubt.
So up at the crackers of dawn :)

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:08 pm

Will you take flowers to put there?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:09 pm

I read the family rather had money for a good course I think, but still.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:11 pm

    Just a rose?

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 1:12 pm

Up at the crackers of dawn? Hmm. Yes, parking will be at a premium. No, I will take nothing but myself and the condolences. The camera will have to remain in the car while I attend the service. The family is asking for nothing for themselves.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:13 pm

(just steel it from your neighbours garden. If it is the season, I doubt it. Then again you live subtropic)

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:14 pm

No flowers then. Do you have a black suit?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Sorry, I just realized how that sounds.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 1:22 pm

I’m not wearing a suit. It’s Florida. I will wear something dressy and dark in deference to the family. I think the condolences will be just as good as flowers, if not better. Words live longer than flowers.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:24 pm

You are right. Words linger. :)
    dressy? A frock?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 1:29 pm

I am of to gb. See if my avatar is still there, you never know. See you!

  • Thinker Belle // February 9, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Okay…I’ve finally mustarded up a few words, though the first poem was more encouraging, my words could never hold a candle to Footprints in the Sand.

Could you please edit that post and attach the Footprints in the Sand as a sideline poem of encouragement for me? Actually, it could go as anonymous…I don’t care.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 3:32 pm

For you, Thinker Belle, I would walk to the ends of the earth. I see no reason why they both shouldn’t stay the way they are. What does it hurt to show you cared enough to send 2 offers of condolence?

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 3:47 pm

That was fun :) I usually can’t get to gb this time of day.

  • Ina // February 9, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Well, time to close my eyes. Goodnight and take care tomorrow.

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 4:21 pm

    Tomorrow, then, I hope.

  • Thinker Belle // February 9, 2009 at 7:06 pm

Dave, did you know the Examiner had a link back to your condolences post? Are you a photographer for them?

  • Marinade Dave // February 9, 2009 at 7:32 pm

That’s exactly where I lifted those comments, Thinker Belle. Now, I’m going to go back and attach the link to that post. I am not affiliated with the site at all, but I noticed about a week or so ago I was getting hits from there. Then, when I posted the condolences article, I began getting lots of hits from them. Someone there has been following some of the things I write about the Caylee case, I would assume. Believe me, I am flattered.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 6:44 am

    Goodmorning and good luck!

  • Marinade Dave // February 10, 2009 at 6:48 am

Thank you, Ina, and good morning to you. I am going to hop in the shower now. I’ll be back before I leave.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 6:51 am

You will be smelling like a peach :)

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 12:14 pm

Goodevening, just saw the service on OrlandoSentinel.com (except for the first half hour, there are photo’s there too) and I have deep respect for mr and mrs Anthony. They were so strong and clear when they spoke. The whole service was nice and peacfull.
    Did you get in allright?

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 12:17 pm

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/caylee-anthony/
    Meant goodafternoon of course :)

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 12:49 pm

    Hey Ina!!!
There was just something on the news about another child in Florida named Haley Marie who is missing from sometime in the a.m… Man, I hope this has no connection to the Caylee case, like a “mock”….oh what do they call….copycat, that is what they call it. There is an amber alert out now.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Hallo Newbie. With that name I don’t think it is serious, I mean Haley Marie? Doesn’t thay look a bit too much like Caylee Marie??

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:19 pm

    Then again, who knows?

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:21 pm

When they said the name I was confused at first as I thought they had said Caylee. I have turned the tv off. Enough is enough !!

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Phelps’ people did not show up today I heard :)

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:24 pm

They did say there were no pickets at the Memorial. That makes me wonder where the picketers picked….silly I am.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:26 pm

They were scared of us. They knew we were angry :)

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:29 pm

And it is possible they werre given “air-time”. That has happened a couple of times. They had intended on picketing the funeral of the Mormon children that were slain last year, I think, but traded the picketing for appearance on some tv program.
In our area, or most of Kansas, they receive no recognition. No one usually reports on their activities as they thrive from publicity.

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Give me a minute and I will find out.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:32 pm

    Scary. Why do that?
So they can say their thing on tv in order to shut them up elsewhere? Good idea. Hope nobody watches though :)

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:33 pm

    Do you live in Kansas?

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Ina, my source is not available. I am going to send you interesting reading on the Phelps. It is long but worthwhile.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:43 pm

    Ty. my email: inaschroderszeeders@planet.nl

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:44 pm

Did you see the memorial service?

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:45 pm

    http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/michael_haggerty/expose3.htm#CHAPTER%20NINE

    Ina,
The above is a long read but well worth it if you want to understand the Phelps.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:46 pm

O you send it like that :) Ok. Ty.

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:51 pm

A person can also go to YouTube for various flicks on Phelps. My favorite is Michael Moore’s.

If you go to YouTube, keep in mind that these are mild actions shown. The signs of Phelps keep getting worse…i.e., “Thank God for 9/11″, “Thank God for the Sunomi(sp)”

When you see their very young children carrying heavy signs with hate spewed on the signs, it breaks your heart.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:52 pm

I am reading the article, what is finicky?

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 1:54 pm

My computer is extremely slow…didn’t get the email till now.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 1:56 pm

You know I will send the stuff to my son, he can do something with it for his English. It is interesting enough.

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 2:00 pm

I believe it means particular or picky.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:05 pm

“Before the kids got old enough to be finicky, she could fill one tub and bathe them all, then line them up to brush their teeth and clean their fingernails. ”
    Looks like the 60’s :)

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:05 pm

I think it means something else, Newbie.

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 2:09 pm

I haven’t gone back to the writing…..I would say before the kids could complain about bathing in the same tub, etc.

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 2:10 pm

I have to go out for awhile. Catch you later?
    :) :) :)

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:11 pm

:) or before they would start to like it too much perhaps.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:12 pm

    See you later!

  • Newbie // February 10, 2009 at 2:12 pm

    lol
    Talk at you later.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:35 pm

    finicky or finicking
    Adjective
    1. extremely fussy
    2. overelaborate or ornate: finicky designer patterns [earlier finical, from fine1]

Newbie, you were right. I have a dirty mind I suppose :)

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 2:42 pm

No sign of the Flying Reporter yet though…
Still on some Interstate? Traffic jammed? Lost his way? Met friends and went to a pub? Will we ever find out…

  • Marinade Dave // February 10, 2009 at 3:12 pm

I am here writing. I got back safe and sound. No protesters whatsoever. No pictures from inside the church, but lots from outside. Hopefully, I will finish by tonight or tomorrow morning. All I can say at this point is that it was a very nice service and at times, not a dry eye in the place. My tentative working title is, “Are there green beans in Heaven?”

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 3:15 pm

Yes Cayee liked them, I heard George say that. Good tilte.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 3:17 pm

    typos, I got sticky fingers.
It was the grandparents that were very strong I thought.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 3:34 pm

Everything went so smoothly, but I don’t think they rehearsed? I can’t imagine they would have wanted to. Of course Cindy still loves her daughter, and she said so. They all looked nice people to whom a terrible tragedy has happened.

I saw many bald, well lets say less hairy, backheads, but I don’t know any of them was yours. There were 1100 people, but there was room for 5000, so plenty of space I think. 5000? That is some congregation!

    Write well and goodnight already.

  • Ina // February 10, 2009 at 3:36 pm

Hey the comment nr 1000 was mine :)

  • Thinker Belle // February 10, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Hey Dave, you may need a new open forum page…this one takes forever to get to the bottom. FYI

  • Ina // February 11, 2009 at 8:22 am

I had no problem now, perhaps it is slow when a lot of people are busy on the internet?

Goodmorning :) I have beaten you 3 seconds in posting a blog on gb this morning. Not that it is a contest. And yours is better by far. But it is funny :)

  • Ina // February 11, 2009 at 9:14 am

3 minutes I mean. You are busy I suppose, so am I.
    But the farmer is dead.

  • Marinade Dave // February 11, 2009 at 9:22 am

I was setting up a new Open Forum page. This one was getting too long. It’s still here, but the new one is a lot shorter. Thinker Belle suggested it. She said it took too long to scroll down to the bottom of the page to add a comment, and she was right. So, I started the new one.

Oh, and good morning. I’ve been busy, yes, and I’m hopping in the shower soon. After a cup or 2 of coffee, of course. I will go back to GB in a little bit, but I seriously doubt my post is better than yours.

  • Ina // February 11, 2009 at 9:28 am

    No it is.
I can still get here very quickly :)
But at night, when the whole world is surfing, everything gets stuck.
    Have a nice hop :)

  • Marinade Dave // February 11, 2009 at 9:40 am

It sometimes gets sluggish in the afternoons here, which would be night to you, so yes, I can see that happening. I am going to use the new Open Forum, only because I think that’s where the others will end up by clicking at the top of the banner. I know you can get to where you left off by clicking your latest comment next to your avatar on the front page, but I don’t think some of the others are aware of that.

  • Ina // April 5, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Hey, I can still comment here? :)

  • Marinade Dave // April 5, 2009 at 2:35 pm

    You just did.
