I’m a pacifist, but I have immense respect for anyone willing to go to war for their country. People like your brother keep people like me from having to fight.
I’m a pacifist, too. I don’t own any kind of weapon other than my mind. My brother is a military career guy. He feels he is keeping us safe from the bin Ladens and other sickos of the world. He is very dedicated to this and I, too, have the utmost respect for him and the others who serve.
In an ideal, wishy washy world, there would be no guns or violence, but that will never be. Maybe, we should start a “Fight Violence!” campaign.
Thank you for commenting. Any post like this is a bit controversial, given the passion on both sides of this war. My brother has sent me several e-mails about life where he is now. I plan on writing about it soon, with his consent, of course.
His first tour was in Kirkuk and I wrote a few things about that here after I got his permission. I will ask him again, when he sends me more of what he’s going through. I don’t know if he wants to identify where he is at this point, but I really don’t think he’ll mind.
